Full moon in August at the Acropolis MuseumThe Acropolis Museum will have extended hours on Saturday August 13, 2011 and they’ll be hosting a series of short talks about the role the moon played in the everyday lives of the Ancient Greeks. The free gallery talks will be presented by museum archeologists.

Admission to the Acropolis Museum is free from 9:00 PM until 12:00 midnight in celebration of the August full moon.

Although the Acropolis won’t be open this year for the Full Moon in August, the Acropolis Museum does offer a great vantage point from which to experience the archeological site as the Ancients once did. There’s also a free, outdoor concert scheduled along the pedestrian promenade featuring Mimis Plessis, “the Greek Gershwin”.

Perhaps he’ll do Sunset on the Acropolis
