I signed up for your 'news' Carol in the summer, when we were hoping to find tickets late September for the herod Atticus theatre while we were in Athens, after doing a Greek Cruise. Unfortunately tickets never presented themselves, but we just loved Athens. Your photos above bring back memories as we stayed at the Attalos Hotel. So close to everything, and although we did have a private tour arranged for one day, we walked and walked the rest of the time. Monistiraki, Psirri, Thisseio, Syntagma Sq. etc. and so close to walk up to the Acropolis. We found Athens to be a very clean city and we enjoyed it tremendously. The older museum and of course the new one for one Euro. The pedestrian walk around the base of the Acropolis with those beautiful buildings is fabulous. And, I am not sure, but are those Jacaranda trees on Athenas Street? Hope to get back to Athens some day in the not too distant future.
