Our discover Athens package includes accommodations for 2 – 8 guests, round trip airport transfers, archeological site tickets along with a private guided Acropolis & Ancient Agora tour. In addition, guests have the option of choosing a private half day food tour and Greek cooking class or a private full day tour to the Argoloida peninsula or Delphi.

We also offer extensions to your Athens stay including a 3 day countryside exploration – either guided or self-guided.

Athens is a very safe city, but there is no question that over the next few months, the Greeks, who have a long history of rallying, striking and peacefully demonstrating, will probably be experiencing some growing pains as they adjust to the new austerity measures undertaken by the new government to reduce the public debt. As a result, some of the more popular commerical areas may be a bit too exciting for travelers. This just highlights the advantage of staying in a furnished vacation rental. Demonstrations generally don’t take place in residential areas of the downtown Athens (and despite what the TV may be reporting, our guests have repeated reported back after their stays with us that the strikes/demonstrations did not impact their stays negatively.

Want to fall in love with Athens like I did? Don’t just drop in for the night, pay homage to the Parthenon and head off to the islands. Allow yourself at least 4 nights, though you won’t be bored if you stay a month.
